Sightseeing in Our State

August 23, 2010

Since we spent an entire week seeing the sites of the eastern states, we decided to dedicate a bit of our time at home seeing the sites of Oklahoma.  From what once was the largest McDonald’s in Vinita to the Bricktown Ballpark, my dad and I saw some of Oklahoma’s signature spots and were reminded of why we love living here.  We also visited the Murrah Bombing Memorial, which like our time at Ground Zero was a humbling experience.

Our trip starts up again in just a few hours, so be sure to check back soon to see photos from the western states!

The big McDonalds used to be a regular restaurant before it became a McDonalds. We used to drive over after church from DEWEY. I don’t remember the name. But, it must have served fried chicken, since my Dad would never eat in a restaurant that did not serve fried chicken. By brother Mike and I used to fight for the window seats.

Hess and Abby – great job on your excellent adventure. You guys must be having so much fun. I read every chance I get and am enjoying the pics.

So – how often do you have to fill up a propane tank? Why hasn’t Detroit caught on to the propane way?!

It is hard for me to be original :-) I’m sorry I didn’t get to see you over the weekend but “I’ve been sick” :-) (just kidding) You guys should have thought ahead and had a website and a twitter blog…that would have been way cool. Tell me the truth…when you run out of gas, WHO has to walk to the LP Gas Station?
